A Brief Introduction

A recent Center for Disease Control (CDC) report cites a shocking 50% increase in the suicide rate of 50–60 year-olds between 1999 and 2010. In other words, in a ten-year period, Baby Boomer suicides increased by 50%! We cannot allow our brothers and sisters, the very people who have been hard at work raising kids, diligently going to their jobs every day and sometimes taking care of their aging parents just to be sidelined by job loss and ensuing health crises at a time when they’re supposed to be thinking of retirement. Baby Boomers who are laid off are rarely rehired and if they do become re-employed, they face significantly lower salaries and are underemployed.

50 Plus Reinvented is a crowdsourced space where displaced people 50+ can regain hope and begin to see new possibilities for themselves by learning from others who have been successful in making a significant transition.

Please view the About page for more about me and why I started this site.

I would also very much like to hear from people looking to share reinvention stories. Click here to contact me if you would like to be interviewed or to inquire about submitting a guest post about your story of reinvention.

Aging is inevitable. Growth is optional. Let’s help each other.

I am comforted knowing that my recently graduted son can get insurance even if he thinks he is too young to be sick
